About the Organization : The International Court of Justice (ICJ; French: Cour internationale de justice; CIJ), sometimes known as the World Court, is one of the six principal organs of the United Nations (UN). It settles disputes between states in accordance with international law and gives advisory opinions on international legal issues. The ICJ is the only international court that adjudicates general disputes between countries, with its rulings and opinions serving as primary sources of international law.
About the Internship: The International Court of Justice (ICJ) is open for applications for the 2023-2024 Judicial Fellowship Programme (formerly known as the University Traineeship Programme).
Eligibility: The Court normally accepts up to 15 participants per year from various universities across the world.
Internship Profile: The Judicial Fellows work on a full-time basis under the supervision of a Member of the Court and alongside the primary legal assistant of the judge. A special trust fund has been developed to facilitate fellowship awards to selected candidates who are nationals of developing countries from universities based in developing countries.
